After the alpha release we've received some feedback and also there were
lots of pending tasks. Here is a list of suggested features/improvements
for beta release (SourceForge task id's are shown in square brackets):
1. Fix all reported bugs (Duh..).
2. [50291] Add PostgreSQL adapter (anyone on the list uses PostgreSQL for
anything?). Maybe also look at adding support for one of the "WebObjects"
databases like OpenBase?
3. [55534] Web application tutorial is needed (there are already volunteers
for this one).
4. [56497] Add raw rows functionality.
5. [50293] Allow SelectQuery to hold arbitrary attributes for raw row fetches.
6. Add handling of large result sets. At least partially implement the
ideas suggested here

7. [53399] CayenneModeler - add "Import EOModel" function.
8. Work some more on CayenneModeler look. We already have some volunteers.
Lets see if we can beautify the GUI before BETA.
9. Make Cayenne compatible with JSDK 1.3 (only if there are volunteers to
do that).
Comments/additions?
Note that I haven't mentioned EJB support (some kind of SessionBean
facade). Unless there are volunteers, I suggest we postpone it till say
Cayenne-1.1.
