    Logging and other "deprecated" warnings are due to the fact that all JDK1.4
    related API was deprecated and replaced with other methods. I thought it was
    a good idea to preserve the API for the time being, so that people who used
    Cayenne prior to Alpha 3 don't have to change their code.

    Though I guess it is OK to clean up all deprecated API for the future Beta 1
    release. Hopefully this will not create too many problems for the early
    adopters.

    +1 for this change. You can go ahead and remove deprecated methods.

    I will make an anouncement on the web site after this is done.
