Here is an overview of the issue:
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------
            Key: CAY-69
Summary: bin/modeler.sh should ship with +x bit set
           Type: Bug

         Status: Assigned
       Priority: Trivial

        Project: Cayenne
     Components:
                 CayenneModeler GUI

       Assignee: Andrus Adamchik
       Reporter: Jim Menard

        Created: Tue, 23 Dec 2003 5:21 PM
        Updated: Tue, 23 Dec 2003 5:21 PM
Environment: Mac OS X (true for all UNIX flavors)

    Description:
The file bin/modeler.sh, when unpacked as part of the Cayenne archive, does not have its executable bit set. This means that on Unix systems you must either manually perform "chmod +x bin/modeler.sh" before you can run it or invoke it via "/bin/sh bin/modeler.sh".

My proposed solution: make sure the script is saved into the archive with the executable bit set.
