Here is an overview of the issue:
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------
            Key: CAY-98
Summary: Ability to globally specify a custom superclass for all ObjEntities
           Type: New Feature

         Status: Assigned
       Priority: Minor

        Project: Cayenne
     Components:
                 CayenneModeler GUI

       Assignee: Andrus Adamchik
       Reporter: Mike Kienenberger

        Created: Tue, 17 Feb 2004 9:41 AM
        Updated: Tue, 17 Feb 2004 9:41 AM

    Description:
Cayenne Modeler allows a user to specify a custom superclass on a per-ObjEntity basis. I believe the most common use case is to specify the same custom superclass for all ObjEntities to provide common functionality for all DataObjects. Specifying this manually for each and every ObjEntity is burdensome for large numbers of ObjEntities.

It would be desirable to be able to globally set and change a default ObjEntity custom superclass (would handle the case of newly-created ObjEntities) or to apply such a change to all ObjEntities.

    -Mike
