            Key: CAY-202
Summary: When change the ObjEntity name, relationships pointing to this object get the object name blanked out
           Type: Improvement

         Status: Assigned
       Priority: Minor

        Project: Cayenne
     Components:
                 CayenneModeler GUI
       Versions:
                 1.1

       Assignee: Andrus Adamchik
       Reporter: Derek Rendall

    Description:
The database I am working worth (~ 200 tables with lots of FK links) has table names that are dont translate to class names well, and sometimes the names are cryptic/confusing (as the DB has grown, usage patterns have changed). So, I thought, I'll change the Object Names. Ive ended up changing about 85% of the names. Unfortunately, when I changed a name, the objects with relationships pointing to it "lose" the object name, which I only discovered after making all the changes. I can understand that this is probably a GOOD thing when you do this for a database entity, but I would expect that the changes in object entities get propogated (or at least be given the choice).

For now I will leave the object names the same, but change the class names, as thats the really important bit.
