I think we are staying with stable/nightly (and not the third) for a
while. Stable is actually very close to nightly right now (in fact, I
can probably push nightly to stable again). If I ever get to the
whole classpath thing, which just puts me in a bad mood thinking about
it, then that would be the next big fork between them.
