how to get back code-completion?

    I did something that caused code-completion to stop working for me
    and I _cannot_ figure out how to turn it back on.

    I got one alert about it and did not catch everything it said and I
    keep looking through the several hundred preference switches that
    eclipse has. Is there some map to all these preferences?

    All I want to do is hit the checkbox for "yes, I f-ing want to use
    code-completion" and I go through dozens of preference panels and
    cannot find it.

    Any suggestions?
