Here is an overview of the issue:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: CAY-123
Summary: most-significant term Ordering in a multiple-ordering list not documented.
Type: Improvement
Status: Assigned
Priority: Major
Project: Cayenne
Components:
Cayenne Documentation
Versions:
1.1 [DEV]
Assignee: Andrus Adamchik
Reporter: Mike Kienenberger
Created: Tue, 27 Apr 2004 2:32 PM
Updated: Tue, 27 Apr 2004 2:32 PM
Description:
org.objectstyle.cayenne.query.Ordering javadocs and http://www.objectstyle.org/cayenne/userguide/fetch/orderings.html do not specify which Ordering in a multiple-ordering list is most-significant term .
Unless you're coming from WebObjects and assuming its the same in Cayenne, or unless you trace the code deep into the guts of the comparator to see an increasing loop with a comment about skipping remaining less-significant items, there's no way to know which direction the Ordering search order occurs.
