Anyone here has any experience with FrontBase? What's the deal with FB
crashing on malformed SQL?
Will Scheidegger is developing an FB adapter (see
http://objectstyle.org/jira/secure/ViewIssue.jspa?key=CAY-175) and
while helping him with that, I am constantly running into this problem.
Certain malformed SQL statements kill the DB instance process
completely, instead of simply returning with an error. I observed this
in Java JDBC apps, but also in FrontBaseManager. I have FB 4.1.6 on Mac
OS X Panther.
I guess this is really a question for FB mailing list, but I feel a bit
disappointed. FrontBase was always hailed as superstable supercool
engine, but this looks extremely immature....
