I'm ok with this so long as I can keep storing my vertical inheritance
"user properties" safely in the "client" class fields as a temporary
workaround. However, support for vertical inheritance (even in the
makeshift way I've cobbled it together as shown on the wiki) is now a
critical requirement of my Cayenne work.
The basic minimum support I need is for the xml file to allow two
"user" attributes, the modeler to not overwrite them (doesn't need to
allow view/edit/delete) when making changes, and the cgen task to be
able to access them. And so far, the two client properties have
worked that way for me, but I haven't tried upgrading cayenne in my
projects since M5-ish. Now that I have the new eclipse checkout
working and building, I'll likely try upgrading to the latest cvs
snapshot next week.
