I have no problems with my old G4 Powerbook ... so it is probably
still some glitch in the card.

Yep, I got all the upgrades Apple offers :-) Actually since I run
Postgres/Frontbase/MySQL/OpenBase on this machine, the hard drive
speed is indeed essential.
