    Here a short example for a flattened relationship:

    You have an Order
    the Order is on a Truck
    the Truck is driven by a Driver (normally)

    The RelationGraph

    Order
     -> Truck
      --> Employee (Driver)

    With a flattened relation you can now add a relation
    to the Order, that gives you the Employee-Infos of the Driver
    as relation direct on the Order.

    Hint: Flattened Relations only exist on the ObjEntity
