    One possibility is to migrate to JPA using Hibernate, then once
    everything is in JPA, switch to Cayenne/OpenJPA/TopLink Essentials.

    Note that Cayenne's JPA support is still incomplete at the moment, but
    is getting better every day thanks to Andrus.
