    Hi Stephen

    If you access these attributes using JDBC 3 do they come across as
    Strings which you can then manipulate with a DOM or SAX parser?

    I created a task for JDBC 4 here https://issues.apache.org/cayenne/browse/CAY-1107
      so if you feel inspired to work on it you can attach any thoughts
    about implementation or patches to that task.
