    It isn't a CAYENNE_HOME problem. Here are the lines I changed:

    set JAVACMD=javaw
    rem set JAVACMD=%JAVA_HOME%\bin\javaw

    I'm missing why you would need to do this. Downloading new versions of
    Cayenne will only require you to modify your CAYENNE_HOME system
    variable.....

    Changing:
    CAYENNE_HOME = C:\development\cayenne-1.0.5
    To:
    CAYENNE_HOME = C:\development\cayenne-1.1a-pre

    I'll leave it to a mac user to speak about the "Aqua look-and-feel"
    thing.
