    I tried to reengineer my application with a recent Cayenne (8-2-2004) and it
    won't work. I get the message "Error converting characters into server's
    character set. ..." Something must have changed somewhere. I used to have
    problems unless I created my own DataMap but I think that bug was fixed (in
    any case, it did not make any difference this time).
