Here is an overview of the issue:
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------
            Key: CAY-148
Summary: Procedure Queries need result set descriptors
           Type: Improvement

         Status: Assigned
       Priority: Minor

        Project: Cayenne
     Components:
                 Cayenne Core Library
       Versions:
                 1.1 [DEV]

       Assignee: Andrus Adamchik
       Reporter: Andrus Adamchik

        Created: Tue, 15 Jun 2004 10:11 PM
        Updated: Tue, 15 Jun 2004 10:11 PM

    Description:
Currently result sets returned by ProcedureQueries contain default values returned by JDBC driver. There is no way to map them to a non-default Java type.

It would be nice to explicitly map the types of values returned, kind of like SQLTemplate does. Otherwise some combinations of java/db types may not work.
