EQUAL_TO with CHAR problem in Oracle

    If you have a column defined as CHAR, Oracle space pads it out so you
    can't do straight equal unless you space pad it out, this problem will
    appear if you do LIKE as well. So the question is do I have to space
    pad out my strings or should you do a trim in the sql?

    WebObjects 4.5X (don't know about 5.X) has the same problem.
