mysql 4.1 on OSX

    Hey Andrus!

    Just wondering if you've (or any other OSX users) gotten any Java app
    to work with mysql 4.1. There seems to be a connection problem with
    this version of mysql, only on OSX. The exception that is thrown is
    described here:

    There is a suggestion at the end of this thread, but it wasn't much
    help. We were already running mysql as a service. :-\

    Anyone else come across this problem? Have any suggestions? Not sure
    if this is a bug with the JVM version, or mysql 4.1. This is bumming
    us out, big time.
